Benghazi Gate – Gop Benghazi Progress Report – Is The Obama Admin & Clinton Lying To Us?

WASHINGTON – An interim report by House Republicans faults the State Department and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton for security deficiencies at the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, prior to last September’s deadly terrorist attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

Senior State Department officials, including Clinton, approved reductions in security at the facilities in Benghazi, according to the report by GOP members of five House committees. The report cites an April 19, 2012, cable bearing Clinton’s signature acknowledging a March 28, 2012, request from then-U.S. Ambassador to Libya Gene Cretz for more security, yet allowing further reductions.

“Senior State Department officials knew that the threat environment in Benghazi was high and that the Benghazi compound was vulnerable and unable to withstand an attack, yet the department continued to systematically withdraw security personnel,” the report said.

Release of the report comes as dozens of House Republicans separately have pushed for Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, to create a select committee to investigate the Sept. 11, 2012, attack. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the report Tuesday.

The report also is highly critical of President Barack Obama and White House staff. In the days following the attack, White House and senior State Department officials altered what the report said were accurate “talking points” drafted by the U.S. intelligence community in order to protect the State Department.

And contrary to what the administration claimed, the alterations were not made to protect classified information. “Concern for classified information is never mentioned in email traffic among senior administration officials,” according to the 43-page report.

Last December, senior State Department officials acknowledged major weaknesses in security and errors in judgment that had been revealed in a scathing independent report on the deadly assault. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns and Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Nides admitted that serious management and leadership failures left the mission in Benghazi woefully unprepared for the terrorist attack.

Clinton, testifying before Congress in the final weeks of her tenure, took responsibility for the department’s missteps and failures leading up to the assault. But she insisted that requests for more security at the diplomatic mission in Benghazi didn’t reach her desk, and reminded lawmakers that they have a responsibility to fund security-related budget requests.

The report from the House committees is the latest broadside in what has been a long-running and acrimonious dispute between the Obama administration and congressional Republicans who have challenged the White House’s actions before and after the Benghazi attack.

House and Senate Republicans for weeks fought for access to information about the attack and used the nominations of two key Obama administration national security officials — Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and CIA Director John Brennan — as leverage to obtain internal documents about the raid.

A Boston The deadly bombing at the Boston Marathon that killed at least two and injured more than 80 is believed to be an act of terrorism, senior White House officials told Fox News.

Two explosions tore through the finish line of the world-famous race just before 3 p.m., going off simultaneously as throngs of onlookers watched runners complete the 26.2-mile trek. The timing of the blasts immediately sparked suspicions of a deliberate act.

“When multiple devices go off, that’s an act of terrorism,” a senior administration official told Fox News, just moments after President Obama delivered a statement to the nation and did not use the word “terror.”

The official stressed that with details still coming in, it is unclear whether a foreign entity like Al Qaeda was behind it or whether it was home-grown terrorism. As a result, this official said the administration did not want the president to get out too far ahead and directly call it “terror.”

WINDHAM, N.H. – A New Hampshire school district has banned dodgeball and other “human target” activities over concerns about violence and bullying.

The school board in Windham voted 4-1 last week to remove the game and nine others from the district’s curriculum.

The Eagle-Tribune reports the board voted after a committee of physical education teachers studied the issue. A middle school parent complained his child was bullied during a dodgeball game.

The committee recommended eliminating the game, and others, including prison ball, slaughter, and bombardment.

“We spend a lot of time making sure our kids are violence free,” Windham superintendent Dr. Henry LaBranche said. “Here we have games where we use children as targets. That seems to be counter to what we are trying to accomplish with our anti-bullying campaign.”

School Board member Dennis Senibaldi cast the sole vote against the ban.

“We have rules that are set in place to deal with bullying,” he said. “We don’t need to ban an entire round of games just to enforce those rules.”

The National Association for Sport and Physical Education said there are any number of reasons to drop dodgeball.

“It’s an elimination game,” said Andrew Mead, program manager at NASPE. “Games like dodgeball and tag don’t keep kids involved and physically active. They objectify slower students who don’t catch as well.”

Senibaldi offered a solution.

“We could just do it on a point system,” he said. “So, no one gets knocked out right away.”

While we are busy making a living, our educational system is busy indoctrinating our children. If you are a parent, you simply must understand what is happening in our schools before it’s too late and the Progressives succeed in indoctrinating foreign values and mores into your children which will remain with them throughout their lifetime.

Here are some recent outrageous examples of our educational system at its worst.

While playing a game of ‘rescue the world,’ Alex Evans, a second grader in Colorado tossed an imaginary grenade into a box in a make-believe game called “rescue the World” Because of the school’s ‘no real or play fighting’ rule, the boy was kicked out of school for an undisclosed period of time. The child said that he “was trying to save people …” in his imaginary world

In a related incident, a Llttle 5-year-old kindergartener was suspended for 10 days by a school administrators over alleged threat to blast a playmate with a Hello Kitty toy gun that shoots colorful floating bubbles. Her mom says that her daughter was told she could go to jail over threat.

A 5-year-old Hyannis MA boy received a disciplinary warning from Hyannis West school officials after building a gun out of Legos!

First, we heard school children in NJ sing praises of Barack Hussein Obama.

And now, the Progressives are writing text books with embedded propaganda with the expectation of molding our children’s behavior!!!

Children’s Book Wants 3 Year Olds Chanting ‘Union Power’

As a parent, you know that when your kids are young and learning to read that they are very impressionable. Many of the values, likes and dislikes are formed during these early years and trust me, the liberals know it and are using it to brainwash the next generation.

One of the most impressionable tools to use on young children are their first books, especially ones that teach them basic learning skills such as their alphabet. I’m in my sixties and I still remember many of the objects associated with the alphabet like A is for apple, B is for ball, C is for cat and so on. I even learned Morse Code when I was quite young because of picture association and still remember most of it today – A is dot dash – an apple and stem; B is dash dot dot dot – baseball bat and 3 baseballs; L is dot dash dot dot – locomotive front wheel, wheel bar and 2 rear wheels and so on.

Now, a social activist with very liberal and socialist ideas is using his new alphabet book to brainwash kids at the earliest age possible. Innosanto Nagara is originally from Indonesia. He came to the US to attend the University of California at Davis. He is a founding member of Design Action Collective, which is described as a social justice design studio. Just to remind you, the term social justice is the new way of saying socialistic without people realizing it.

Nagara has recently published a children’s book titled: A is for Activist. It is being advertised as a ‘children’s book for the 99 percent’. The purpose of the book is to ‘infuse the alphabet with the energy and consciousness of Occupy Wall Street.’

In an interview, Nagara talked about the book saying:

“It’s pretty awesome to hear a three-year-old saying ‘union power.”

Some of the letter lessons in the book are:

“B is for banner, as in a protest banner hanging off a construction crane

L is for LGBTQ, as in Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgendered and Queer

T is for Trans, as in transgendered

Z is for Zapatistas, as in Mexican revolutionary leftists”

Sadly, the book is already being picked up educators. One teacher union activist in Oakland wrote:

“This is an amazing book for toddlers.”

Founder of the social justice organization Code Pink, Medea Benjamin heralded A is for Activist saying:

“May a thousand young activists bloom!”

And that is precisely the purpose of this book, to create thousands of kids who will grow up as liberal socialistic activists who will work to undermine what America is all about.

Parents, please be warned about this book. If your kids attend public school, make it a priority to visit that school and find out if they have this book and are using it to brainwash your child into something you don’t want them to become. The schools will not safeguard your kids from this kind of teaching, only you can. You must take an active role in your children’s education. You need to protect your children like a mother hen protect her chicks and remember the words of Proverbs 22:6 that say:

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Democrats introduce expanded assault-weapons ban

Congressional Democrats introduced a new and broader assault-weapons ban Thursday, in a vivid press conference that included a display of various weapons they want to outlaw.

It was a measure that was quickly condemned by the National Rifle Association as an assault on the Constitution, “instead of prosecuting criminals or fixing our broken mental health system.”

“The American people know gun bans do not work and we are confident Congress will reject Senator Feinstein’s wrong-headed approach,” spokeswoman Andrew Arulanandam said.

The measure was written by Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who was behind the original 1994 assault-weapons ban which expired in 2004. It marks the first major legislative step since President Obama, in the wake of the Newtown school shooting, called for new gun control measures including a new and stronger assault-weapons ban.

“Our weak gun laws allow these mass killings to be carried out again, and again, and again in our country,” Feinstein said. “Weapons, designed originally for the military to kill large numbers of people in close combat, are replicated for civilian use.”

She said the bill she and her colleagues are introducing would bar the “sale, transfer, manufacture and importation” of assault weapons. It would also ban magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

As part of the press conference, lawmakers displayed an array of weapons, including a Colt AR-15, a semi-automatic assault rifle, and an Intratec TEC-9, a semi-automatic handgun.

The move comes after NBC News host David Gregory faced an investigation for displaying a banned magazine on a Sunday show in the District — but the Senate sergeant-at-arms office said the weapons were displayed Thursday in “compliance” with all applicable laws.

The office said they are “authentic” and in the custody of the Philadelphia and D.C. police departments, which brought them.

The weapons ban, though, faces long odds even after last month’s mass school shooting in the state of Connecticut.

In a statement, Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said the proposal would have done “nothing” to prevent the Newtown tragedy and vowed to fight to defeat the bill.

“Washington politicians shouldn’t be taking advantage of recent tragedy to try to push an aggressive gun control agenda. Real assault weapons — machine guns — are already functionally illegal, and they have been since 1934,” he said.

The last ban expired in 2004 when Congress refused to renew it under pressure from the National Rifle Association, a gun advocacy group. There’s continuing disagreement about the effectiveness of the original assault-weapons ban, and measures like beefed-up background checks on gun sales may be more likely to pass.

Definitions of what qualifies as an assault weapon have varied over time and across states.

According to a summary from Feinstein’s office, her bill would place bans on 120 “specifically named firearms,” as well as certain other semiautomatic guns — and those with a fixed magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds.

While the 1994 law defined an assault weapon as one that had, in most cases, a detachable magazine and at least two characteristics as set by Congress, the new bill would define an assault weapon as one that meets just one of those characteristics.

Some of those characteristics for rifles in the old law included a pistol grip, a folding stock and a bayonet mount. But the Feinstein bill would strip what her office describes as “easy-to-remove” characteristics like the bayonet mount from that list.

Feinstein’s office says the bill would grandfather in weapons legally owned before enactment and exempt more than 900 “specifically named weapons” for hunting or sporting purposes.

Obama avoids question on whether Americans in Libya were denied requests for help

President Obama has declined to answer directly whether a CIA annex was denied urgent requests for military assistance during the deadly attacks last month on U.S. outposts in Libya.

The president said neither yes or no Friday when asked pointedly whether the Americans under attack in Benghazi, Libya, were denied requests for help during the attack. Fox News has learned from sources on the ground during the Sept. 11 attacks that the CIA chain of command twice told agency operatives to “stand down.” “The election has nothing to do with the four brave Americans getting killed and us wanting to find out exactly what happened,” the president said first in a TV interview with an NBC affiliate in Colorado.

When asked again, Obama said, “The minute I found out what was going on, I gave three very clear directives — Number 1, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to,” the president said in a TV interviews with an NBC affiliate in Colorado. The first attack occurred at the American consulate in Benghazi, killing U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and U.S. diplomat Sean Smith. Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team that was at the CIA annex about a mile from the consulate when it came under attack. Upon hearing shots fired, team members asked higher-ups at the annex if they could go the consulate. However, they were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and went to the consulate, evacuating survivors and Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight. At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. Woods and fellow former Navy SEAL Glen Doherty were killed at the annex by a mortar shell at 4 a.m. The CIA and Defense Department have denied claims about requests for support being rejected. “The agency reacted quickly to aid our colleagues during that terrible evening in Benghazi,” said CIA spokeswoman Jennifer Youngblood. “Moreover, no one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need. Claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate.” Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said there was not a clear enough picture of what was occurring on the ground in Benghazi to send help. “There’s a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking going on here,” he said Thursday. “But the basic principle here … is that you don’t deploy forces into harm’s way without knowing what’s going on.” Obama also said in the TV interview, as he said previously said, the administration is going to “investigate what happened to make sure it never happens again” and find out who was involved in the attack so they can be brought to justice. “I guarantee you that everybody in the State Department, our military, CIA, you name it, have a No.1 priority making sure that people are safe. These are our folks. And we’re going to find out exactly what happened but what we’re also going to do is make sure that we are identify those who carried out these terrible attacks,” the president said.

An Army lieutenant colonel who was on the fast track until Muslim groups complained about a course he taught on radical Islam has a legal foundation in his foxhole. Attorneys for Lt. Col Matthew Dooley, a West Point graduate and highly-decorated combat veteran, was an instructor at the Joint Forces Staff College at the National Defense University, where by most accounts he won praise from students and faculty alike. But when Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey excoriated Dooley during a Pentagon press conference in May, characterizing his course, “Perspectives on Islam and Islamic Radicalism” as objectionable, unprofessional, and “against our values,” Dooley’s once-bright career effectively hit a dead end, say his backers.

“This was a very heavy-handed approach from the very top,” said Richard Thompson, chief counselor and president of the Thomas More Law Center, a national nonprofit public interest law firm handling Dooley’s case. “He had a brilliant career ahead of him,” Thompson said. “Now, he has been flagged.” Following Dempsey’s criticism, Dooley received a negative Officer Evaluation Report (OER) after acing them for the past five years, according to Thompson. In military circles, the bad OER was a scarlet letter. “They [superiors] ordered a negative evaluation. He will never have the opportunity for promotion unless this is overturned,” Thompson said. Dooley is a 22-year military veteran and decorated soldier who served three generals and did multiple tours of duty overseas. Dooley’s attorney says that they are prepared to file a civil lawsuit in federal court if Dooley’s negative ranking is not overturned by superiors. A spokesperson for the U.S. Army declined to comment, stating that officials cannot verify the validity of Dooley’s purported previous OERs posted on his attorney’s website. More Law Center attorneys believe Dooley was doomed by a letter sent to the White House, Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies a year ago and signed by more than 50 Muslim-American groups, including the Council of American-Islamic Relations. The missive decried what groups described as the government’s “use of biased, false, and highly offensive training materials about Muslims and Islam.” The letter cited as examples of offensive material used throughout training courses in government agencies and made several demands, including that all training materials and instructors be reviewed, materials deemed biased be purged and instructors and assurances that “bigoted trainers and biased materials are not developed or utilized in the future.” Dooley is still serving in the military and not allowed to speak publicly on his case, according to Thompson. But the soldier is hoping to have his negative OER revised and be reinstated in his job as an instructor, according to Thompson, who maintains that the guidelines from the NDU Faculty Handbook were disregarded when Dooley was relieved of his position. “The guidelines give him [Dooley] permission and authority to pursue teaching that is free of limitations,” Thompson said. The Faculty Handbook states; “Academic Freedom at National Defense University is defined as freedom to pursue and express ideas, opinions, and issues germane to the University’s stated mission, free of limitations, restraints, or coercion by the University or external environment. Academic freedom is the hallmark of an academic institution.” “He has been getting a lot of support from others. I think they are aware of the political correctness that has been permeating the military,” Thompson said. “He’s disappointed, but he’s a soldier. He’s been holding on.”

Here in MA there is a myth that in order to be elected into office one needs to embrace Progressive Ideology. Our state is noted for its social welfare generosity which has become a Progressive magnet for illegal Aliens and welfare recipients from across the region. A system that was originally designed in response families that believed in the Protestant work ethic but who had their bread winner disabled through no fault of their own. Recently, Lloyd Marcus wrote about America and Divine Intervention in Trevor Loudon’s NoisyRoom blog. It is his perception of how our society has evolved into a Social-Economic-Political “gimme Society”, where entitlements instead of principle would appears to be our new voting mantra.

He writes that, “Some pundits say Obama has so successfully transformed America into a “gimme society” that the food stamp president will win re-election in a landslide. Other political wizards say the bloom is off the rose. A majority of Americans realize that Obama is a far left, radical, socialist/progressive, anti-American, lawless dictator. His reign of terror will end come November. Arguments are strong supporting both scenarios.”

Whether one believes the former or latter political prognostication about the presidential race, one fact is abundantly clear. Recent polls indicate that Americans of all persuasions have little to no faith in Congress. In April, “Just one in 10 Americans approves of the job Congress is doing, according to a Gallup poll released Tuesday, tying the branch’s lowest approval rating in 38 years.”

As we look to fill our seats in State and National offices this fall, we suggest that you look to a new Role Model for Massachusetts, namely Allen West. As you will see from the following video, he is a man of Principle, Character and Caring. We need to evolve our Senators and Representatives to the Allen West model and away from the Progressive’s transformed “gimme society” model.

The low-budget movie, entitled “Innocence of Muslims,” has angered followers of Islam for its mocking of the Prophet Mohammed, and for portraying Muslims as immoral and gratuitously violent, according to a report on AFP.

“When videos breach those rules, we remove them. Where we have launched YouTube locally and we are notified that a video is illegal in that country, we will restrict access to it after a thorough review,” a spokesman for Google, which owns video site YouTube, told AFP on Monday.

The site began restricting access to clips of the privately-produced film Sunday, in line with its community guidelines, according to the report.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) was reported to have asked Google Saturday to remove clips of the controversial film, AFP reported, which is believed to have been produced by a small group of extremist Christians in the United States, from YouTube.

Some extracts of it were still available on the video-sharing website on Monday but several other clips had been blocked to users in the Muslim-majority country.

Google has also denied access to the videos in Indonesia, Libya, Egypt and India.

The Preamble to the Rules of the Republican Party state, “Be it resolved, that the Republican Party is the party of the Open door. Ours is the party of liberty, the party of equality, of opportunity for all, and favoritism for none. It is the intent and purpose of these rules to encourage and allow the broadest possible participation of all voters in Republican Party activities at all levels and to assure that the Republican Party is open and accessible to all Americans.”

As the committee was ready to adjourn yesterday, Florence Sebern, delegate from Colorado, bravely moved to strike the Preamble, as, “It’s inconsistent with what we did today.”

Her succinct comment was appropriate, and reflected in Jeremy Blosser’s comments today. Blosser, a delegate from Texas, has been attending all the GOP committee meetings coordinating, and encouraging liberty delegate members, in their efforts to bring fairness to the RNC. He writes:

“Manipulating concerns of many in the party mainstream over the success Ron Paul’s supporters had becoming delegates this cycle, the DC insiders led by the Romney campaign are staging a complete takeover of the national Republican Party from the conservative wing and ensuring they will never lose power again.”

Romney campaign attorneys and other operatives ran a large set of changes through the convention rules committee on Friday. The vast majority of which were not discussed prior in the RNC Standing Rules committee. Two changes stand out far beyond the rest and must be defeated on the floor of the convention if we do not want to see the grassroots shut out of the party for decades to come.

First, the committee voted to allow the RNC to make rule changes between conventions, with little to no checks or balances. The original threshold proposed was 2/3 of the entire RNC. Melinda Fredericks of Texas got this changed to 3/4, but as Morton Blackwell of Virginia noted, in his many years on the RNC he has never seen a situation where the chairman did not get what he wanted on a vote, regardless of threshold.

Second, the committee voted to dramatically restrict who can be elected a delegate to the national convention. All states now are required to pledge all delegates, and all national delegates must be approved by the candidate they are pledged to. As originally proposed, the candidate had to pre-approve people before they could run, but this was changed to instead give candidates veto power over elections. Attempts to carve out exceptions for caucus states that have party rule requiring they not pledge some delegates failed.

I’m pleased to say our representatives on the committee opposed this one as strongly as anyone did, with Butch Davis saying that stopping it was “a hill to die on”. David Barton ran for the Platform Committee so that he could make sure the Romney campaign would not successfully gut the platform–that kind of speech or position will never be tolerated in the future if this stands.

Morton Blackwell and others are leading efforts to defeat this via minority reports on the floor. We NEED to make sure either those pass or the entire report is voted down so we stay with the 2008 rules. PLEASE help us inform the delegates and put pressure where needed to stop this. This is not a “Ron Paul vs mainstream GOP” thing, this is a complete party takeover by the DC insiders we may not be able to reverse if it succeeds.

The last form of the adopted language I have available is below–we don’t have access to the official report yet but unless I missed something this is it.

New rule inserted as number 12:

“The Republican National Committee may, by three fourths (3/4) vote of its entire membership, amend Rules 1-11 and 13-24. Any such amendment shall be considered by the Republican National Committee only if it was passed by by a majority vote of the Standing Committee on Rules after having been submitted in writing at least ten (10) days in advance of its consideration by the Republican National Committee and shall take effect thirty (30) days after adoption. No such amendment shall be adopted after September 30, 2014.”

New rule inserted as number 15(a):

15(a)(1) Any statewide presidential preference vote that permits a choice among candidates for the Republican nomination for president of the United States in a primary, caucus, or state convention must be used to allocate and bind the state’s delegation to the National Convention in either a proportional or winner-take-all manner, except for delegates and alternate delegates who appear on a ballot in a statewide election and are elected directly by primary voters.

15(a)(2) For any manner of binding or allocating delegates permitted by these Rules, no delegate or alternate who is bound or allocated to a particular presidential candidate may be certified under Rule 19 if the presidential candidate to whom the delegate or alternate delegate is bound or allocated has, in consultation with the State Party, disavowed the delegate or alternate delegate.

15(e)(3) The Republican National Committee may grant a waiver to a state Republican Party from the provisions of 15(a) and (b) where compliance is impossible, and the Republican National Committee determines that granting such a waiver is in the best interests of the Republican Party.

If these rules pass as the committee passed them, the Republican Party will be completely closed to the grassroots. The only way to fix it will be to take over the RNC, because we won’t likely be able to get into the national convention as delegates again. We’ll certainly do that if it’s the only option they leave us, but we have to defeat these rule changes if we want to fulfill our mandate to affect the national party in this cycle.

For this change to take effect it has to be approved by a vote of the entire convention on Monday (now Tuesday, as the convention opening has been postponed to early Tuesday afternoon because of the hurricane).

Pat Kerby, delegate from Nevada, had this to say, “With their change to the rules giving them “flexibility,” can’t they just change it to whatever suits them? The days of the grassroots having input in the GOP are over until the grassroots are the majority.”

Yesterday, 10 Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents (ICE) filed a Federal lawsuit against the Barack Hussein Obama administration seeking to rescind what an unlawful policy directive from to cease deportation of illegal immigrants. Ice agents are being suspended for retaining illegal immigrants, even if there are outstanding warrants against them. If an agent retains any illegal a second time, he is in jeopardy of losing his job!

MA Delegation along with US Senate and House Provide Obama and the Executive Branch with Even More Power

In another act of outrageous anti-Constitutional legislation, our US Senate and House signed a Bill that relieves the Senate of its Constitutional Obligation of “Advice and Consent” over more than 3,000 crucial Federal appointments. Both Senator Scott Brown and John Kerry along with our entire House Delegation voted for this Bill. As a matter of fact, Senator Brown was a Co-Sponsor of the Senate Bill. I guess this vote allows him to tout his bipartisanship.

As you may remember from your American History classes, our forefathers crafted the Constitution into 3 main divisions, namely the Executive, the Congressional and the Judicial. They were also very concerned about the usurpation of power by one of the 3 branches.

Consequently, they developed into the Constitution the embodiment of a “Balance of Power” or a means of checks and balances, among the 3 branches. By means of these checks and balances, each “branch” could seek redress if its powers were being diminished. I believe that we should have learned our lesson from Obama’s appointments of Czars who as unelected bureaucrats have had enormous power over our existence with little to no political redress by the citizenry.

The enactment of this bill has also further weakened and diminished the powers of the Senate and thereby that of all Americans, to participate in “Advice and Consent” of appointments. Moreover, it has further weakened our fundamental “Balance of Power” and has set and damaging precedent by placing too much authority into the hands of the Executive branch.

Obama Signs Congress Approved Bill Giving Him More Power

According to news reports President Obama signed the “The Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011” on August 10, 2012.

Politico.com reports,

“Democrats and Republicans came together to give President Obama more power to appoint officials jobs in his administration without seeking approval from the Senate.”

This bill will go into effect anywhere from 0-60 days from the date of President Obama signing it. The Senate approved the bill, 79-20, in June 2011. The House approved it, 261-116, last month.

“In the middle of election season, Democrats and Republicans in Congress have come together to give President Barack Obama more power to appoint officials to jobs in his administration without seeking approval from the Senate.”

Yes, you read correctly: more power. The article went on to point out just why this didn’t break across mainstream media:

Lost in the hubbub last weekend over Rep. Paul Ryan’s selection as Mitt Romney’s running mate was the fact that Obama signed a bill that eliminates the need to obtain Senate confirmation for about 170 executive branch posts: the Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011.

Senator Lieberman, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, which marked up and reported out the measure, said: “This bipartisan legislation represents the Senate at its best. A problem was identified, and Democrats and Republicans worked together to craft a solution. Now, future Administrations will be able to get their teams in place more quickly, and the Senate will be able focus its time and energy on the most important Executive Branch appointments. In no way does this bill erode the Senate’s role of “advice and consent.” Rather, it strengthens the Senate’s power by freeing us up to concentrate on nominees who will actually shape national policy.”

This is very concerning, this gives Obama the legal right to hire who he wants without approval from the senate for the following positions.

A Tulsa police officer and devout Christian is suing his department after being punished for refusing to go to a mosque for a mandatory cultural event.
Police Capt. Paul Campbell Fields, a 17-year veteran, was docked two weeks’ pay, transferred, reduced to the graveyard shift and made ineligible for promotions for at least a year, after he told his chief his faith made it impossible for him to attend a “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day” at the Islamic Cultural Society of Tulsa, according to the lawsuit.

Fields, 43, is a non-denominational Christian, who quoted Scripture in legal explanation of his insubordination.
“This event is compelling me to go to a venue where a group of individuals is prepared to discuss their (Islamic) faith,” Fields said during a May 2012 deposition, the transcript of which was obtained by FoxNews.com. “And in my faith, I have a duty to proselytize my faith to people (who) don’t subscribe to my faith. I can’t do that in uniform. And so therein lies the conflict or moral dilemma I face.”
Fields’ attorney, Robert Muise of The American Freedom Law Center, elaborated, “He was going to be in a place where people were going to refer to Jesus Christ as merely a prophet and not his Lord and Savior.
“And he wouldn’t be able to respond to them in any way,” Muise added. “That was very troubling to him.”
Fields is seeking his docked pay, attorney’s fees, as well as compensatory damages for the “humiliation” — and damage to his reputation — he suffered as a result of the affair.
The donnybrook has its origins in a Jan. 25, 2011, Tulsa Police Department staff meeting, in which Deputy Police Chief Alvin Webster informed fellow officers of the March 4 event at the Islamic center.
At that point, attendance was voluntary, according to the lawsuit.
The Islamic Cultural Center of Tulsa did not return calls or emails from FoxNews.com, but a promotional flier for the event cited in the suit states the event would include meetings with Muslim community leaders, a tour of the center’s mosque, talks on Islam, as well as a 45-minute prayer service.
On Feb. 17, Webster sent out another email stating that attendance at the event was no longer voluntary, and that Fields was to order at least a few of the 25 or so men under his command to accompany him, there.
Fields replied that he believed the said order was an unlawful one, “in direct conflict with my personal religious convictions.” In that email, Fields described Webster’s order as, “conscience shocking.”
Fields cc’d the department’s chief, Charles W. Jordan, as well as other superiors on the email.
Four days later, Fields found himself explaining his actions at a meeting in Jordan’s conference room. There, Webster asked — on tape — if Fields had solicited volunteers to attend the Islamic center’s event.
“Yes, I have,” Fields replied, to which Webster asked, according to the suit, “Okay, and the response?”
“Is zero,” replied the captain.
“All right,” said Webster, “And so that makes this fairly easy. Are you prepared to designate two officers and a supervisor or yourself to attend this event?”
“No,” said Fields, to which Webster replied by slapping the captain with the aforementioned punishments. Since then, Fields has toiled, according Muise, from 8:45 p.m. to about 7 a.m. on the “graveyard shift.”
On Feb. 24, the department made the Islamic center event voluntary for all officers, although with a catch. Officers could give a medical excuse for not going, but not one based on religious grounds, the suit states.
For its part, the City of Tulsa denied comment other than to say, “The police department serves every citizen regardless of demographics. We cannot comment in this case or on any pending litigation.”
Fields has said that if it were merely a police matter to which he was called, requiring him to enter a mosque, he would have no problem doing his duty as an officer.

The married man also added during the May deposition, “I’m a Christian. Okay? I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. As a Christian, I have a duty to proselytize the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“I also have a duty to repent for my sins and I have a duty to increase my … relationship with the Lord through the Scripture and good deeds.

“As I said before — I don’t know that I can make it any clearer. Islam is not my faith. It’s different than my religion … And when I come to work, I don’t presume to know someone’s religion. It doesn’t enter into the question when I’m providing a police call for service.
“Here, I have an instance where I’m being compelled to attend an event that’s very — it’s an open invitation to discuss their religion …and yet I can’t express my faith to them.”
Fields declined to comment directly on the matter. His attorney, Muise, initially replied to a 1 p.m. call from FoxNews.com by saying he was sleeping, having returned from the night shift shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday morning.
