The time has come to resurrect The Sons of Liberty.

We have been hearing for weeks now that the Republican Establishment, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and Speaker John Boehner have cooked up an Amnesty Deal. A Deal that will be surreptitiously enacted in the House and Senate such that the final Conference Bill will be passed in the Senate by the Democrat Majority and in the House by a mix of all Democrats and Republican Establishment defectors who will be well rewarded by being allowed to retain their Committee Chairmanships’.

The Deal came into the open on the Glenn Beck show when modern-day Patriots Representatives Michele Bachmann (Minn.), Steve King (Iowa) and Louie Gohmert (Texas) along with 67 other stalwarts determined that they could not go along with the deception and decided to risk their careers in a showdown with Boehner. Read more here Now that the deception has been made public, Speaker Boehner is saying that he doesn’t “intend” to push a bill that violates Republican Party “principles.”

Don’t be deceived by the Boehner’s latest ruse. He fully intends to implement the Deal, unless “We the People”, take back our government. We have to have patience. We are now engaged in a battle for survival for our way of life. If you value the future for your children and grandchildren, then you must become engaged and stick it out as long as it takes to convince our political class that we have had it and it is Speaker Boehner and the Republicans that defect that will bear the angst of the citizenry.

Remember first and foremost that these 70 brave souls have placed their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor on the line for us. We must in turn protect their backs from the administrators of this deception, both now and the future. We cannot allow the retribution that was delivered to Colonel Allen West to befall any of our brave patriots.

On June 19th you will have an opportunity to stand up against Amnesty and all the other reprehensible scandals that have rocked your faith in our government by joining Representatives Michele Bachmann , Steve King and Louie Gohmert, in front of the U.S. Capital. If you can’t be there physically, you can use the occasion to call your Representatives and Senators as well as to voice support for the 70 Representatives’ who are demanding that the Speaker honor the Hastert Rule that requires support from a majority of the majority to bring a bill forward.

Our way of life has been gradually under attack and sometimes we may feel that there is nothing that we can do. However, our Constitution gives the power to the people and we must make it clear to all our elected Representatives that we will exercise that power to rid our country once and for all from Amnesty, that promises to bankrupt our nation, from surveillance that threatens our Personal Liberty, and from corrupt, anti-Constitutional officials and bureaucrats that threaten our life, our liberty and our pursuit of happiness.

More Massive Government Entitlement Fraud…Yawn!

What does MA and the Federal Government have in common? The answer is Massive Entitlement Fraud. The well oiled Progressive Deval Patrick Entitlement machine knows that votes cost and what is better than purchasing votes with Other Peoples Money, or OPM. Deval is following our Dear Leader in the White House’s lead in insuring that reforms are blocked and vetoed lest they interfere with the quid pro quo of votes for entitlements. “According to the Boston Herald, which first reported the veto, the governor berated the legislature’s stab at banning the purchase of specific items like manicures, tattoos, guns, porn, body piercings, jewelry, and bail by saying the move was “political grandstanding” at a time when such reforms are already on track elsewhere.

Recently, EBT Fraud beagle, Shauna O’Connell R Taunton, reported that the number of missing EBT Card cheats had risen from 17,000 a couple of months ago to 47,000 after an internal investigation. If we assume that the 47,000 received the average family monthly stipend of $456, then a measly $257.2M in fraud was skimmed from MA taxpayers.

“Although selling food stamps, known as trafficking, is a federal offense, Massachusetts remains one of the few states without a specific law allowing local authorities to investigate and prosecute retailers who traffic in food stamps. That loophole has made it difficult for local authorities to clamp down on retail traffickers, stores willing to pay recipients half the face value for every dollar they exchange.”

While Deval stonewalls and claims that Welfare Fraud enforcement is difficult at best, ME has been ramping up its investigations and prosecutions and cracking down on Welfare Fraud. “[ME]Department of Health and Human Service investigators are better trained. Local police are assisting on more cases. And state prosecutors are devoting more time and resources to putting behind bars people who rip off taxpayers’ money.”

At the Federal level, Our Dear Leader has been ramping up the “Obamaphone” giveaways. While we can’t place the blame on Obama for initiating the program, hats off to Bush 43 for initiating this technological welfare fraud program. In 2008, $819 Million was collected from a tax imposed on every land line telephone subscriber’s bill. Just another SMART Growth use of OPM to pay for FRAUD. Last year, since it was a presidential re-election year, Our Dear Leader accelerated the “Obamaphone Smart Growth” program so that a mere $2.2 Billion was confiscated from “producers”. By the way, we lucked out. Only “… 41% of their more than six million” “Obamaphone” recipients turned out to be fraudulently obtained.

Millions Improperly Claimed U.S. Phone Subsidies

The U.S. government spent about $2.2 billion last year to provide phones to low-income Americans, but a Wall Street Journal review of the program shows that a large number of those who received the phones haven’t proved they are eligible to receive them.

The Lifeline program—begun in 1984 to ensure that poor people aren’t cut off from jobs, families and emergency services—is funded by charges that appear on the monthly bills of every landline and wireless-phone customer. Payouts under the program have shot up from $819 million in 2008, as more wireless carriers have persuaded regulators to let them offer the service.

Suspecting that many of the new subscribers were ineligible, the Federal Communications Commission tightened the rules last year and required carriers to verify that existing subscribers were eligible. The agency estimated 15% of users would be weeded out, but far more were dropped.

Carriors

A review of five top recipients of Lifeline support conducted by the FCC for the Journal showed that 41% of their more than six million subscribers either couldn’t demonstrate their eligibility or didn’t respond to requests for certification.

The carriers—AT&T T -0.11% Inc.; Telrite Corp.; Tag Mobile USA; Verizon Communications VZ -0.07% Inc.; and the Virgin Mobile USA unit of Sprint NextelCorp. S +0.35% —accounted for 34% of total Lifeline subscribers last May. Two of the other largest providers, TracFone Wireless Inc. and Nexus Communications Inc., asked the FCC to keep their counts confidential. Results for the full program weren’t available.

The program is open to people who meet federal poverty guidelines or are on food stamps, Medicaid or other assistance programs, and only one Lifeline subscriber is allowed per household.

The program, which is administered by the nonprofit Universal Service Administrative Co., has grown rapidly as wireless carriers persuaded regulators to let people use the program for cellphone service. It pays carriers $9.25 a customer per month toward free or discounted wireless service.

Americans pay an average of $2.50 a month per household to fund a number of subsidized communications programs, including Lifeline.

For the carriers, the program is a chance for them to sign up more subscribers and make a small profit, plus more money if customers go over their small initial allotment and need to buy more minutes or text messages. Carriers can set prices for their Lifeline subscribers as the companies wish.

Until last year, FCC rules didn’t require carriers to certify to the FCC that subscribers were eligible. Consumers could self-certify, and in many states documentation wasn’t required.

Carriers said many of the disqualified subscribers simply didn’t reply when asked to prove their eligibility. They also said the FCC rules on self-certification, and the absence of a national database of participants, made it hard to keep ineligible people from signing up.

The FCC said it is investigating allegations that some Lifeline providers violated the rules, though it declined to comment on that probe. Carriers that don’t properly confirm eligibility can be fined up to $150,000 for each violation for each day of a continuing violation, up to a maximum of $1.5 million. In egregious cases, a carrier could lose its ability to participate in the program.

Telrite said it confirms Lifeline eligibility but said it had been difficult to verify the one-phone-per-household rule.

A Verizon spokesman said the “vast majority” of the subscribers removed from its rolls didn’t respond to eligibility checks. While Sprint found that some of its subscribers were no longer eligible, it, too, found that many others didn’t respond, a person familiar with the carrier’s operations said.

AT&T hadn’t detected the ineligible subscribers because customers self-certified under old rules and because some states required the company to provide Lifeline service to people enrolled in certain state assistance programs, according to a person familiar with the company’s thinking.

Tag Mobile didn’t respond to requests for comment.

TracFone Chief Executive F.J. Pollak declined to say how many customers his company shed. Nexus Communications didn’t respond to a request for comment.

Two years ago General Communication Inc. GNCMA +0.37% paid more than $1.5 million to settle allegations that Alaska DigiTel LLC, an Alaskan company it owns, submitted false claims to the FCC for more than four years. General Communication said the alleged misuse occurred before the company took day-to-day control of Alaska DigiTel.

Lifeline users have been a source of subscriber growth in the otherwise saturated U.S. market and helped fuel the expansion of companies like TracFone, now the fifth-largest U.S. wireless carrier.

The FCC until last year allowed consumers to self-certify, without requiring documentation, that they met federal poverty guidelines. Subscribers didn’t have to recertify once they were enrolled in the program, and there were few checks on whether households signed up for more than one cellphone.

“The program rules we inherited were designed for the age of the rotary phone and failed to protect the program from abuse,” FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski said.

The agency pushed through new rules last year, requiring documentation when a Lifeline customer signs up. Consumers also must certify that no one else in their households is using the program. Carriers now have to check a state or federal social-service database to confirm eligibility and must reverify eligibility every year.

Carriers were required by Jan. 31 to report the number of subscribers they had removed from Lifeline as of the end of last year. The data reviewed by The Wall Street Journal came from those reports.

The FCC said new verification procedures saved nearly $214 million last year, and projected total savings over the next three years would reach $2 billion. Disbursements under the program began to drop in the third quarter after 12 consecutive quarters of increases.

Amnesty Coming Your Way?

Senator Marco Rubio in an interview with Greta Van Susteren on Fox talked about his plan for “Undocumented Immigrants.”

Even our so called rising star Republican political class can’t help but use the same political speak of the Progressive Left, who seek to legitimatize criminal behavior. According to Title 8 Section Section 1325 of the US Code of Federal Regulations:

“Improper Entry by Alien,” any citizen of any country other than the United States who:

Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact;
has committed a federal crime.”

Further, one has to question the political motives of Senator Rubio. After all, a similar Amnesty law to that proposed by Rubio et al, the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA) was signed into law by President Reagan on November 6, 1986 who called it, “the most comprehensive reform of our immigration laws since 1952.”.

IRCA:

required employers to attest to their employees’ immigration status.
made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit unauthorized immigrants.
legalized certain seasonal agricultural illegal immigrants.
legalized illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously with the penalty of a fine, back taxes due, and admission of guilt. About three million illegal immigrants were granted legal status.

The law turned out to be a complete and utter failure when you consider that, it did nothing to stem the flow of Illegal Immigration. It is estimated that we now have 4 to 6 times the 1986 illegal Alien population, residing in the United States when IRCA became law. Thus Senator Marco Rubio follows in the footsteps of his political elite predecessors and ignores George Santayana admonition that, “Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”

“ There is much talk about the need for “comprehensive immigration reform”. With that in mind it would be useful to review what we as a nation learned, or should have learned, from our last big experiment in the field, the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA).” (Ref: Center for Immigration Studies Article January 2013)

In MA alone 17,000 EBT card holders were unable to be identified in 2012. What percentage of these lost EBT cardholders are illegal Aliens? What about the fraud perpetrated by Illegal Aliens that are on Welfare, on Medicare and perpetrate felonious. Criminals that are stealing our hard earned treasure at a time when America faces debt crises after debt crisis and at at a time when every level of government can barely manage to provide care for its legal citizenry. The effect of Amnesty on our economy at this time would be nothing short of devestating.

Doesn’t Senator Rubio understand that the end game for illegal Aliens is a quid pro quo relationship, wherein the Democrat Party keeps them as a permanent government dependent underclass in return for their votes and political support. If Amnesty were to passe, these Illegal Aliens would then become a permanent dependent American underclass. These demographic trends have been causing dramatic political changes in our Southwestern states and if Amnesty were to be passed, this trend will befall our state as well.

Rubio Finds Support on the Right for Immigration Plan

With leaders from both parties calling on Congress to take up immigration reform this year, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio has been meeting with news outlets and conservative opinion-shapers to lay out his vision for a plan that would offer temporary legal status to undocumented immigrants. Those applying would have to pass background checks and other tests designed to eventually lead from permanent residency to citizenship.

Though he has not yet introduced legislation, in trumpeting his sweeping proposals Rubio has seized a torch that in recent years burned several similarly ambitious Republican politicians. But in a sign of how quickly the parameters of the debate on this issue have shifted since President Obama’s re-election, prominent conservatives — many of whom were vocal in their opposition to previous similar plans — have been lavishing praise on Rubio’s ideas for reform.

On his nationally syndicated radio show, Sean Hannity said that Rubio’s plan was “probably the most thoughtful bill that I have heard heretofore,” while Fox News colleague Bill O’Reilly called the program “a good one.” Other purveyors of conservative thought, from Grover Norquist to Ralph Reed to David Brody, have also weighed in with positive reactions.

The most important seal of approval thus far may have come from Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, who had until recently been tied to 2012 running mate Mitt Romney’s policy of opposing “amnesty” for illegal immigrants (whom Romney had suggested could be encouraged to “self-deport”).

But Ryan has made clear that he, too, is ready to pivot on the issue.

“Senator Rubio is exactly right on the need to fix our broken immigration system,” Ryan wrote last week in a post on his Facebook page. “I support the principles he’s outlined: modernization of our immigration laws; stronger security to curb illegal immigration; and respect for the rule of law in addressing the complex challenge of the undocumented population. Our future depends on an immigration system that works.”

Rubio spent much of the first half of last year trying to drum up support for his plan to offer visas to the children of illegal immigrants who have served in the military or attended college — an alternative to the Democratic-backed DREAM Act. But when the president issued an executive order that achieved similar ends, Rubio criticized him for having sidestepped Congress.

Since Obama’s re-election, which came with the support of more than 70 percent of Hispanic voters, Rubio’s team has been heartened by the stark sea change they have seen on the issue.

“Overall, the reaction’s been really positive, and there really hasn’t been any significant opposition to it,” Rubio spokesperson Alex Conant said of the senator’s plan. “People have made good points about the proposals, and we welcome a healthy debate. This isn’t something [where] the senator just woke up one morning and decided to do. He’s been thinking about these issues for years now.”

Rubio’s goal is to pass immigration legislation this year, and the political implications for the rising GOP star could be long-lasting. The first-term senator is widely expected to run for president in 2016. If he does, his first political hurdle to overcome would likely be in Iowa, where conservative hardliners on illegal immigration have long held sway.

In the 2008 nominating fight, John McCain’s efforts to promote comprehensive immigration reform were perhaps his greatest challenge in Iowa — where he finished a distant fourth in that year’s caucuses. He was able to recover and win the Republican nomination, but immigration became an unshakeable albatross for a more recent GOP White House hopeful.

When Texas Gov. Rick Perry suggested in a primary debate that people who disagreed with a Texas law offering in-state tuition rates to children of illegal immigrants “don’t have a heart,” the resulting criticism from conservatives grew into a firestorm in the Hawkeye State. Perry’s opponents and right-leaning activists hammered him for the comment, which he was forced to spend precious time on the stump trying to explain away.

But Republican consultant Bob Haus, who helped run Perry’s Iowa campaign, predicted that Rubio’s efforts on immigration reform would not sting him in a similar manner, if he does run in 2016.

“There are now more Republican leaders who are working to craft sensible, workable solutions than trying to simply derail everything,” Haus said. “These leaders are changing the debate. Republicans aren’t just against everything related to immigration. Now they’re for something. That signals a paradigm shift, and it will be a good one for the Republican Party.”

Despite those shifting sentiments on the right, however, there will no doubt be more than a few influential Republican voices in Iowa who remain resistant to Rubio’s proposals. Steve Deace, an influential conservative radio host in the nation’s first voting state, made clear on Twitter last week that he had no intention of getting behind Rubio’s plan.

“Strangely I am not reassured by Bill O’Reilly’s endorsement of Marco Rubio’s amnesty..err..immigration plan,” Deace tweeted.

During the 2012 primaries, Romney largely succeeded in his efforts to stake out a position to the right of his Republican opponents on the issue. But his short-term political gain became a Pyrrhic victory when the general election came around and the Obama campaign was able to paint him as an extremist on the issue.

Some former members of Romney’s team are among those taking that lesson to heart, seeing Rubio’s efforts as both politically savvy and a near necessity for the GOP’s future.

David Kochel, who helmed Romney’s near-victory in the 2012 Iowa caucuses, suggested that Rubio and other Republicans with their eye on the White House are wise to demonstrate a willingness to be a part of the solution to a difficult challenge.

“I think there will always be some folks in the conservative entertainment industry who will bang away at Republicans who want to work on immigration,” Kochel said. “But it’s a real problem, and not just a party problem. Time to look it in the eye and solve it. We can do it without compromising our principles.”

Rampant EBT Welfare Fraud Ignored by Gov. Patrick So as to not Alienate His Illicit Voter Base

We have recently learned that Gov. Patrick’s Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) sent out voter registration letters to 500,000 welfare recipients in early August 2012. The DTA likely only provided a limited legal defense against the lawsuit pushed thru by Elizabeth Warren’s daughter, in association with New England United for Justice, whose purpose was to register welfare recipients at government expense.New England United for Justice is a reconstituted offshoot of the now defunct corrupt voter manipulation group, Association of Community Organizers for Reform otherwise known as ACORN.

As a result of the the taxpayer supported Democrat welfare voter registration drive, 19,000 letters were returned as undeliverable. The cunning Deval and DTS did not broach the subject either during or after the election. Neither would they release the information when the Herald learned of the deception and originally requested the information. It took a Freedom of Information Request from the Herald to uncover the fraud. Deval attempted to skirt disclosure of the EBT Welfare fraud and Stonewall the public’s right to know, in order to protect a vital Democrat State party voting bloc. These 19,000 welfare cheats are continuing to receive illicit benefits because Deval says that DTS doesn’t have the means to track or to stop the payments.

Just these 19,000 welfare cheats alone account for about 1/5 of our states mid -year 2013 Deficit.

You can’t ‘scrub’ up EBT mess with a dirty rag

Another day, another 19,000 anecdotes.

Anecdote — that’s Gov. Deval Patrick’s favorite word to describe any scandal involving EBT cards and his constituents. It doesn’t matter how solid the information is, how many law-enforcement agencies are involved in the takedown, he always shrugs off the latest rip-off of the taxpayers.

Anecdote.

And now he’s looking at another 19,000 of them — that 4 percent of the welfare community that the Department of Transitional Assistance (a name that grows ever more preposterous) could not locate.

Those 19,000 MIA’s collect — based on an average of $400 a month — $91 million a year. That’s the estimate of Rep. Shauna O’Connell (R-Taunton). But the governor Friday went into his best pooh-pooh mode.

“That may not be indicative of a problem,” he said with a straight face. “We’ll know when we do the scrubbing.”

Scrubbing? More like a sponge bath would be my guess. This is a program that needs a good cold shower. But the governor, himself a former welfare recipient, recommends … nothing, basically. Call it professional courtesy.

Let’s not forget how the “scrubbing” began. Granny Warren’s daughter filed a lawsuit claiming the DTA hadn’t been proactive enough in registering the state’s assorted loafers and layabouts to vote for her carpetbagging fake-Indian mom. Then — bingo, the hacks located $274,000 for mailings, complete with post-paid envelopes for the gimme girls and guys to send back their voter registrations.

Have you ever gotten a post-paid envelope from the commonwealth? No, I didn’t think so. They’re not for taxpayers, just for the non-working classes to take part in a Democratic voter-registration drive.

The Patrick administration has known about these appalling EBT numbers for months now. They were only released after this newspaper filed a Freedom of Information Act request. Which is the same way it was revealed that Lt. Gov. Tim Murray was doing 108 mph when he mysteriously crashed his state vehicle in November 2011.

So much for transparency at the State House.

It takes months for a law-abiding citizen to get a gun permit in this state. But if you sign up for welfare with a fake name or address, no problemo. Nobody ever checks up, apparently.

When Rudy Giuliani was elected mayor of New York in 1993, he insisted that all welfare recipients show up in person to renew their applications. A quarter of the “recipients” never appeared. It’s hard to respond to a letter if you don’t really exist.

I know, that’s just an “anecdote.” So here’s one more. Years ago when the transit cops in New York and New Jersey started busting fare-jumpers, they made an astounding discovery. A quarter — there’s that number again — of those arrested were carrying welfare cards from both New York and New Jersey. In other words, they were collecting in two states.

And now the Mass. welfare rolls will get a “scrubbing” — wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Here’s what really matters to Deval and his gang of plunderers. On Thursday, as soon as the successor to the outgoing watchdog of the Governor’s Council, Mary-Ellen Manning, was sworn in, the governor nominated Mary Beth Heffernan for a judgeship.

Yes, that Mary Beth Heffernan, probably the worst public-safety secretary in state history. Too incompetent to properly broom Tim Murray’s auto accident or Annie Dookhan or the Sheila Burgess bad-driving fiasco, so they give her early retirement on the bench for $130,000 a year.

Taking care of dodgy old hacks, that’s what Deval et al. are about, not cleaning up the disaster that is the welfare state.

By the way, I still haven’t heard back from Deval on my generous offer to provide him with one hour per month on my radio talk show to explain how wonderful he and his administration are.

Welfare Cash Withdrawn At Strip Clubs – Your Hard Earn Taxes!! – Taxpayer Wa$ted!

They’re on the dole — and watching the pole.

Welfare recipients took out cash at bars, liquor stores, X-rated video shops, hookah parlors and even strip clubs — where they presumably spent their taxpayer money on lap dances rather than diapers, a Post investigation found.

A database of 200 million Electronic Benefit Transfer records from January 2011 to July 2012, obtained by The Post through a Freedom of Information request, showed welfare recipients using their EBT cards to make dozens of cash withdrawals at ATMs inside Hank’s Saloon in Brooklyn; the Blue Door Video porn shop in the East Village; The Anchor, a sleek SoHo lounge; the Patriot Saloon in TriBeCa; and Drinks Galore, a liquor distributor in The Bronx.

The state Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), which oversees the “cash assistance program,” even lists some of these welfare-ready ATMs on its Web site.

One EBT machine is stationed inside Club Eleven, an infamous Hunts Point jiggle joint known as much for its violent history as its girls in pink thongs.

Cops have been cracking down on the Bronx club since 2009 and shut it down temporarily in 2010. In July, five men were stabbed and two others shot outside after bouncers broke up a 4 a.m. brawl with pepper spray. The club appeared to be shuttered when The Post visited Thursday.

Club Heat, another Bronx strip club that dispenses EBT cash, is also no stranger to violence. A 33-year-old woman was fatally shot in the head outside the club in December 2011.

Critics blasted the government for turning a blind eye to welfare’s sleazy money.

Our Political Class is considering confiscating your private retirement account known as your 401k in order to “pay down the deficit?” A total deficit that is now being estimated at over $86 Trillion. Far Left Socialist professor, Teresa Ghilarducci of the New School of Social Research, describes 401(k)s and related plans as a failed experiment. For about ten years she has argued for government confiscation of 401k plans. In October 2008, Democrats were so enthralled with her unconstitutional confiscatory plan that they actually asked her to testify before their subcommittee.

After her testimony, James Pethokoukis wrote in Money on October 23d that:

“Ghilarducci would offer a lousy 3 percent return. The long-run return of the stock market, adjusted for inflation, is more like 7 percent. Look at it this way: Ten thousand dollars growing at 3 percent a year for 40 years leaves you with roughly $22,000. But $10,000 growing at 7 percent a year for 40 years leaves you with $150,000. That is a high price to pay for what Ghilarducci describes as the removal of “a source of financial anxiety and…fruitless discussions with brokers and financial sales agents, who are also desperate for more fees and are often wrong about markets.” Please, I’ll take a bit of worry for an additional $128,000.”

Would you believe that Ghilarducci’s plan is now actively being discussed in the “Cliff Talks” . Not so good you say? It gets worse. Also being floated is the idea that when you pass on to your Great Reward, your annunity would terminate. There would be no payout to your heirs. If you already feel like the government has stolen your retirement through the Social Security ponzi scheme, you had better speak out before your 401k is seized and redistributed to freeloaders as a solution to ward off the fiscal cliff.

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – It’s sure to set off a firestorm. Governor Deval Patrick is getting ready to order all state colleges and universities to offer illegal immigrants in-state tuition rates.

An administration official told the Boston Globe that Governor Patrick will send a letter to the Massachusetts Board of Education Monday. The letter will offer the cheaper in-state rate to illegals who obtain work permits through a new federal government program.

In June, President Barack Obama halted the deportation of illegals under 30 years old if they arrived in the U.S. before they were 16, had no criminal past and met other requirements.

Supporters are praising the move, but critics say the governor is neglecting American citizens struggling to afford higher education.

Obama Admin Is Using A Program To Buy The Election By Hiding Cuts To Medicare?

Republican Rep. Darrell Issa has threatened to subpoena the Department of Health and Human Services if it does not turn over documents by Thursday on a program he claims is being used to “buy” the election by hiding the effects of ObamaCare. Issa, the chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, made his demands in a letter late Wednesday to Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.

His office effectively is accusing the department of stringing them along in their months-old request for documents about an $8 billion program that pays bonuses to Medicare Advantage plans.

“Your staff has run out of excuses and the long delay in providing these documents is inexcusable,” Issa wrote, in the letter obtained by FoxNews.com.

Issa claims the bonus program is being used to mask the first round of Medicare Advantage cuts in connection with the health care overhaul — in order to win favor with seniors. He said in a recent letter that “the only plausible explanation” for the program is that it’s being used as a “temporary bandage” to cover up cuts, “realizing the political danger” of those cuts in an election year. The program in question is called a “demonstration” project. But Issa’s office complains the project is far more sweeping than a run-of-the-mill test program, and conveniently lasts until 2014. The congressman further says the effects of ObamaCare’s $200 billion in Medicare Advantage cuts over the next decade would have been felt starting this week — if not for the bonus payments. Thanks to them, he wrote in an August letter, the project offsets 71 percent of the cuts this year. “What they’re really doing is trying on the eve of an election not to have seniors realize that the cuts to Medicare Advantage were real,” Issa told Fox News in an interview earlier this month. But the department, while saying it is reviewing Issa’s letter, portrayed the program differently. “The quality bonus payment demo is providing incentives to more (Medicare Advantage) plans to improve care, giving more patients high-quality choices in the program,” the department said in a written response to FoxNews.com. “It is consistent with previous demos.” Earlier this year, the Government Accountability Office recommended that the Obama administration kill the bonus payment program — questioning the legal authority behind the system. In his Wednesday letter to Sebelius, Issa described how Health and Human Services officials repeatedly claimed they were working on his committee’s request for documents. According to the letter, they told the panel on Oct. 3 they were “aiming for tomorrow” and “the copying machines are working overtime.” The documents have not been turned over. Issa, in his letter, set a deadline of 5 p.m. ET on Thursday for meeting his demands — or else the committee will move to subpoena. The letter was also signed by Rep. James Lankford, R-Okla., who chairs an oversight subcommittee.

How Obama Is Robbing The Suburbs To Pay For The Cities

Political experts left and right agree: the coming election will be decided by America’s suburbanites. From Florida to Virginia on across the country, in every battleground state, they are the key demographic. All of which raises a question that has not been considered as yet, and ought to be: is President Obama’s re-election in the suburbanites’ interest? The answer emphatically is no.

As many Americans do not know, in the eyes of the leftist community organizers who trained Obama, suburbs are instruments of bigotry and greed — a way of selfishly refusing to share tax money with the urban poor. Obama adopted this view early on, and he has never wavered from this ideological commitment, as a review of his actions in office goes to show.

President Obama’s plans for a second-term include an initiative to systematically redistribute the wealth of America’s suburbs to the cities. It’s a transformative idea, and deserves to be fully aired before the election. But like a lot of his major progressive policy innovations, Obama has advanced this one stealthily–mostly through rule-making, appointment, and vague directives. Obama has worked on this project in collaboration with Mike Kruglik, one of his original community organizing mentors. Kruglik’s new group, Building One America, advocates “regional tax-base sharing,” a practice by which suburban tax money is directly redistributed to nearby cities and less-well-off “inner-ring” suburbs. Kruglik’s group also favors a raft of policies designed to coerce people out of their cars and force suburbanites (with their tax money) back into densely packed cities.

Obama has lent the full weight of his White House to Kruglik’s efforts. A federal program called the Sustainable Communities Initiative, for example, has salted planning commissions across the country with “regional equity” and “smart growth” as goals. These are, of course, code words. “Regional equity” means that, by their mere existence, suburbs cheat the people who live in cities. It means, “Let’s spread the suburbs’ wealth around” – i.e., “Lets take from the suburbanites to give to the urban poor.” Smart growth” means, “Quit building sub-divisions and malls, and move back to where mass transit can shuttle you between your 800 square foot apartment in an urban tower and your downtown job.” In all likelihood, these planning commissions will issue “recommendations” which Obama would quickly turn into requirements for further federal aid. In fact, his administration has already used these tactics to impose federal education requirements on reluctant states. Indeed, part of Obama’s assault on the suburbs is his effort to undercut the autonomy of suburban school districts.

Here in MA there is a myth that in order to be elected into office one needs to embrace Progressive Ideology. Our state is noted for its social welfare generosity which has become a Progressive magnet for illegal Aliens and welfare recipients from across the region. A system that was originally designed in response families that believed in the Protestant work ethic but who had their bread winner disabled through no fault of their own. Recently, Lloyd Marcus wrote about America and Divine Intervention in Trevor Loudon’s NoisyRoom blog. It is his perception of how our society has evolved into a Social-Economic-Political “gimme Society”, where entitlements instead of principle would appears to be our new voting mantra.

He writes that, “Some pundits say Obama has so successfully transformed America into a “gimme society” that the food stamp president will win re-election in a landslide. Other political wizards say the bloom is off the rose. A majority of Americans realize that Obama is a far left, radical, socialist/progressive, anti-American, lawless dictator. His reign of terror will end come November. Arguments are strong supporting both scenarios.”

Whether one believes the former or latter political prognostication about the presidential race, one fact is abundantly clear. Recent polls indicate that Americans of all persuasions have little to no faith in Congress. In April, “Just one in 10 Americans approves of the job Congress is doing, according to a Gallup poll released Tuesday, tying the branch’s lowest approval rating in 38 years.”

As we look to fill our seats in State and National offices this fall, we suggest that you look to a new Role Model for Massachusetts, namely Allen West. As you will see from the following video, he is a man of Principle, Character and Caring. We need to evolve our Senators and Representatives to the Allen West model and away from the Progressive’s transformed “gimme society” model.

In that speech Obama stated that he favored a government redistribution of wealth and more importantly, he viewed welfare recipients and “the working poor” as “a majority coalition” that could be mobilized to help advance progressive policies and elect their champions.

The Barack Hussein Obama Administration is purchasing votes with programs like the “Obama Phones” even though we do not have the tax revenues to pay for these outrages. Consequently, Ben Bernake and his Fed minions have been purchasing as much as 80% of our $16T National Debt associated with these “Welfare Frauds” with increasingly worthless US paper dollars. This monumental US debt accumulation, using Quantitative Easing (Another name for selling/buying US Bonds) will result at some point in the near future in an Inflationary Spiral that will make Germany’s Weimar debacle seem like a cake walk!

Where do “Obama phones” come from?

The video of an Obama supporter bragging about having an “Obama phone” has gone viral on the web, but where do these “free cell phones” come from?

The program is called Lifeline, established in 1984, originally created to subsidize landline phone service for low income Americans, funded by government-collected telecommunication fees, paid by consumers.

In 2008, the program was expanded to support cell phones which quickly escalated the cost of the program. In 2008 the program cost $772 million, but by 2011 it cost $1.6 billion.

A 2011 audit found that 269,000 wireless Lifeline subscribers were receiving free phones and monthly service from two or more carriers. Several websites have been created to promote “free” government cell phones, including the”The Obama Cell Phone” website at Obamaphone.net.

Rep. Tim Griffin R-Ark. has proposed a bill to eliminate federal subsidies for free cell phones and has produced a great YouTube videohighlighting the runaway cost of the program. The program has also been highlighted for reform by Senator Claire McCaskill D-Mo.

Pressure to reform the program led the FCC to announce an effort in February to “reduce the potential for fraud while cutting red tape for consumers and providers” by the end of 2013.

One of the least-appreciated reasons for conservatives to dislike former President George W. Bush is that even while the unemployment rate was declining, the U.S. saw a massive increase in participation in the food-stamp programs (Women, Infants and Children, or WIC; and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP). It’s quite accurate to refer, as the Washington Examiner recently did, to the “Great Bush-Obama food-stamp expansion.” But a recent article on the subject of food-stamp costs in National Review didn’t even mention Bush’s name. Firebrand Newt Gingrich, who has tirelessly focused attention on this topic, has been similarly negligent in omitting Bush from the picture.

Yet Obama has done much more than simply oversee an increase in participation.

Obama brings up Bush’s expansion when challenged about his food-stamp record — he has aggressively sought to blame his performance on his Republican predecessor. Here’s what he told ABC News when confronted on this issue:

First of all, I don’t put people on food stamps. People become eligible for food stamps. Second of all, the initial expansion of food-stamp eligibility happened under my Republican predecessor, not under me. No. 3, when you have a disastrous economic crash that results in eight million people losing their jobs, more people are going to need more support from government.

It’s stunning that the Romney campaign is allowing Obama to get away with not mentioning the costs that have no precedent whatsoever in Bush administration records or policy.

Under Obama, 14.7 million more Americans began using the food-stamp program than had been using it under Bush. That’s a whopping increase of 46%, from 31.9 million users in 2009 to 46.6 million today. One in every seven Americans. The WIC program now purchases over half of all infant formula sold in the United States.

But most importantly, the cost of the program to taxpayers has increased by far more than the expected, proportionate 46%.

Under eight years of George Bush, annual spending on food stamps rose from $15 billion to $35 billion — an increase of about $2.5 billion per year. But in just the first two years of the Obama administration alone, spending rose from $35 billion to $75 billion — a staggering increase of $20 billion per year, nearly ten times the rate of increase in cost under Bush.

The cost of food stamps under Obama rose from an average of $3.6 billion per month when he came to office to $6.2 billion per month now, a disproportional increase of 72% compared to the 46% increase in program usage. And even that figure is misleading because it is based on averages: the total cost of the program over Obama’s four years in office, as noted above, actually rose by well over 100%, now running in excess of $75 billion per year. If you compare 2007 and 2011, the total cost increase is an astounding 135%.

There are two possible explanations for the wildly disproportionate rise in food stamp costs under Obama: either he’s being much more generous with recipients than Bush ever dreamed of being, or food prices are rising because of his inflationary policies. Earlier this year, the Congressional Budget Office weighed in. They concluded that a combination of both factors was in play — but that Obama’s generosity (with taxpayer money) is the much bigger culprit.

Obama Administration’s Has Been Cooking The Books On Illegal Alliens Deportation – “Record Deportation Numbers” Is A Sham

Internal documents obtained by the House Judiciary Committee show that the Obama administration has been “cooking the books” in order to reach their “record” number of deported illegal immigrants, chairman Rep. Lamar Smith said Friday.
Based on the internal U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) documents, the number of removals are actually down, the opposite of what the administration has been claiming.

According to the committee’s review, in 2011 officials at the Department of Homeland Security began including the number of individuals removed through the Alien Transfer Exit Program (ATEP) in its annual removal numbers. ATEP is a program which moves apprehended illegal immigrants to another point along the border.
The committee chair claims that counting those individuals as removals is misleading because there are no repercussions for illegal immigrants who are deported through the program, and they can simply try to re-enter.
“It is dishonest to count illegal immigrants apprehended by the Border Patrol along the border as ICE removals,” Smith explained in a statement. “And these ‘removals’ from the Border Patrol program do not subject the illegal immigrant to any penalties or bars for returning to the U.S. This means a single illegal immigrant can show up at the border and be removed numerous times in a single year — and counted each time as a removal.”
Given the new information, the committee’s Republican majority subtracted the ATEP removals from ICE’s deportation totals.

With the ATEP subtraction, in 2011 the estimated 397,000 deportations become approximately 360,000, and the 2012 removals to date drop from about 334,000 to an estimated 263,000, according to the committee estimates. Projections for number of people to be deported by end of the year drops from 400,000 to 315,000 removals.

4 Illegals Claiming 20 Kids each Get Over $30,000 in Tax Payers Dollars From The IRS

Illegal immigrants could receive more than $7 billion this year in federal tax credits, according to one estimate, thanks to a loophole in the law that allows people not authorized to work to reap the government payments with no questions asked.

Sen. Jeff Sessions’ office calculated that, based on recent trends, illegal immigrants could receive roughly $7.4 billion through a provision known as the Additional Child Tax Credit. That’s more than quadruple what the payout was four years ago, but the payments have been steadily increasing over the past decade.

Though illegal immigrants are prohibited from receiving similar tax credits, a quirk in the law allows them to qualify for the child tax credit. And it’s a “refundable” credit, meaning recipients can reap the money — with average checks totaling about $1,800 — even if they’ve paid no taxes.

An aide to Sessions, R-Ala., the top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, said the issue is a “serious matter that deserves attention” and another sign of how “Washington is disconnected from reality.”

Illegal immigrants can qualify because even people not authorized to work in the U.S. are supposed to file returns with the IRS. If they don’t have a Social Security number, they are provided what’s known as an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number in order to file returns.

Ad those filers are not excluded from claiming the Additional Child Tax Credit, which is offered to some families with children under 17 years old.

A report last year by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration found the claims added up to $4.2 billion in 2010. Sessions’ office calculated the $7.4 billion figure based on the IG report numbers and White House budget numbers.

The IG report last year recommended that Congress pass legislation to “clarify” whether the tax credits should actually be paid to those not authorized to work in the U.S.

Sessions co-sponsored a bill earlier this year to bar illegal immigrants from receiving the credit, but the bill was blocked from reaching the floor by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Reid at the time said the bill targeted the children of low-income Hispanic families.

Recent expansions to the credit under the stimulus law are set to expire at the end of the year.

The unemployment rate ticked up to 8.3 percent in July, reflecting a stagnant economic picture as hiring improved but not by enough to make a dent in the sea of unemployed Americans.
�
The Labor Department report, in a glimmer of positive news after three straight months of dismal jobs numbers, showed that hiring reached its best level since February, with 163,000 jobs added.
�
But the number brings the economy back to treading-water status. The economy added an average of 151,000 jobs a month this year, roughly the same as last year’s pace. That’s not enough to satisfy the 12.8 million Americans who are unemployed. It would take 250,000 new jobs a month to rapidly bring the unemployment rate down.
�
With the rate rising from 8.2 percent to 8.3 percent, Republicans amped up their criticism of President Obama’s stewardship Friday.
�
“Today’s increase in the unemployment rate is a hammer blow to struggling middle-class families,” Mitt Romney said in a statement.
�
“Two years after the Obama administration declared, ‘welcome to the recovery,’ this much is clear,” House Speaker John Boehner said. “With 42 consecutive months of unemployment above eight percent, the private sector still isn’t ‘doing fine’ and President Obama’s economic plan did not work.”
�
Both sides are expected to use the report to double down on their respective tax plans. Boehner said “any new job creation is welcome news,” but that unemployment above 8 percent makes it “insane to raise taxes on small businesses.”
�
Republicans want to extend the Bush-era tax rates for all Americans; Obama and congressional Democrats largely want to extend them for those making less than $250,000, letting rates rise for top earners.
�
Obama is expected to reiterate that call in an appeal to Congress Friday.
�
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi touted the fact that July marked the 29th straight month of private sector job growth.
�
“Last month, 163,000 jobs were created despite Republicans’ refusal to work with President Obama and Democrats to create jobs, grow our economy, and ensure the economic security of our middle class,” she said. “With too many Americans still out of work, the message remains clear: we must do more.”
�
The government uses two surveys to measure employment. A survey of businesses showed job gains. The unemployment rate comes from a survey of households, which showed fewer people had jobs. Economists say the business survey is more reliable.
�
Investors appeared pleased with the report. Futures tracking the Standard & Poor’s 500 index and the Dow Jones industrial average gained about 1 percent. The stock market is coming off four days of losses. Yields on government bonds also rose after the report came out as investors moved money out of low-risk assets.
�
A better outlook on hiring could prompt the Federal Reserve to hold off taking more action to spur growth. The U.S. central bank, which ended a two-day policy meeting Wednesday, signaled in a statement a growing inclination to take further steps if hiring doesn’t pick up.
�
The job gains were broad-based. Manufacturing added 25,000 jobs, the most since March. Restaurants and bars added 29,000. Retailers hired 7,000 more workers. Education and health services gained 38,000. Governments cut 9,000 positions.
�
Average hourly wages also increased by 2 cents. Over the past year, wages have increased 1.7 percent — matching the rate of inflation.
Despite July’s job gains, the economy remains weak more than three years after economists declared the recession had ended in June 2009. Growth slowed to an annual rate of 1.5 percent in the April-June quarter, down from 2 percent in the first quarter and 4.1 percent in the final three months of 2011.

Manufacturing activity shrank for the second straight month in July, a private survey said Wednesday. Consumer confidence improved slightly last month but remains weak.
�
Rising pessimism about the future is taking a toll on businesses and consumers, many economists say. Europe’s financial crisis has weakened that region’s economy, hurting U.S. exports. Worries have also intensified that the U.S. economy will fall off a “fiscal cliff” at the end of the year. That’s when tax increases and deep spending cuts will take effect unless Congress reaches a budget deal. A recession could follow, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke has warned.

Americans are responding by spending less and saving more. A big reason growth slowed in the second quarter was that consumer spending, which accounts for roughly 70 percent of economic activity, slowed to an annual growth rate of 1.5 percent. That was down from 2.4 percent in the first quarter.

This is nothing new to either Governor Patrick nor President Obama. They are both extreme “Ideologues” that are willing to defy their oaths and their duties as Chief Executives to enforce legislative mandates. The Governor’s lame justification that it’s “not feasible” to ban EBT purchases of frills such as liquor, cigarettes, lottery tickets, tattoos and bail are absurd. Private sector corporations already utilize readily available software to restrict the use of their corporate cards. When are the majority of sheepeople going to wake up and finally elect leaders that will enforce our State and Federal laws based upon our Constitutions and not on the whim of an incumbent seeking favor.

A defiant Gov. Deval Patrick finally signed a welfare reform bill into law yesterday — only to say he won’t enforce key parts of the measure, drawing the wrath of lawmakers working to crack down on widespread abuses of the system.

Patrick, in a letter to lawmakers, said it’s “not feasible” to ban EBT purchases of frills such as liquor, cigarettes, lottery tickets and tattoos — and that “this administration will not enforce what cannot be enforced with respect to the use of EBT cards.”

“He’s saying he’s not going to enforce the law. That’s a first for me,” said state Rep. Shaunna O’Connell (R-Taunton), who is leading the charge for reform.

“Just because we don’t have somebody to follow every person around doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have rules in place, or that we shouldn’t tell people they can’t purchase certain items,” O’Connell said.

The bill signing caps weeks of political strife that pitted Patrick against both houses of the Legislature. The governor vetoed the reforms altogether July 8, sending them back to the House and Senate and asking lawmakers to remove the specific-item ban.

Patrick said the independent EBT Card Commission — which was created after a series of Herald stories exposing abuses — ruled out forbidding certain items “for reasons of feasibility, enforceability (and) cost,” and that any lawmaker who thought otherwise was guilty of “political grandstanding.”

That set off a snit between the governor and legislative leaders, who brushed off Patrick’s recommendations and sent the reforms back unchanged.

“The Legislature did not accept the Governor’s sensible changes. He signed the package today in order to protect the measures that can effectively prevent abuse,” Patrick spokeswoman Kimberly Haberlin said.

House Speaker Robert A. Deleo gave half-hearted praise, saying Patrick was right to sign the bill but wrong to take a pass on the item ban. “We applaud the governor for signing the EBT reform legislation into law and expect him to fully enforce it,” DeLeo (D-Winthrop) said in a statement.

The new law also forbids the use of so-called Electronic Benefits Transfer cards at casinos, strip clubs, jewelry shops, nail salons, rental centers and cruise ships. The Patrick administration said it will enforce that part of the law.

“The Governor supports anti-fraud and waste measures that are effective. That’s why he approves banning establishments where EBT cards can be used. Restricting individual purchases is difficult if not impossible to enforce due to a lack of technology and the expense for retailers,” Haberlin said.

Also yesterday, Patrick shot down a bill that would require proof of legal U.S. residency to register a car.

“This bill appears to be aimed at using the RMV to identify and police undocumented people. This is an inappropriate purpose,” Patrick said in his letter to lawmakers. “The recent ruling of the United States Supreme Court, striking down most of Arizona’s anti-immigrant law, underscores the importance of states treading lightly in the enforcement of federal immigration rules.”

House GOP questions legal grounds for changes to welfare work requirements

House Republicans said Monday they were “disappointed” with the Obama administration’s plan to waive mandatory work requirements for welfare and questioned the legal grounds being used to make such changes.

“We are disappointed to see that the administration through this action and others seems intent not on helping to get Americans back to work,” said the letter signed by 76 House Republicans.

The one-page letter to Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius also states the administration is instead intent upon increasing Americans’ reliance on welfare and other government programs.

The work requirements in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families legislation were signed into law by President Bill Clinton in 1996.

The letter points out the addition of the work requirement had bipartisan support in Congress and that President Clinton upon signing them said the act “honors my basic principles or real welfare reform.”

The changes were detailed in a July 12 “information memorandum” from HHS telling states they could seek a waiver from the TANF program’s strict work requirements.

Among the legal questions raised in the lawmakers’ letter Monday to Sebelius were whether waivers are applicable to the Social Security Act and what legal authority allows for such “underlying flexibility in federal law.”

Two Republican governors already differ on the issue.

Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad has lashed out at the plan, suggesting the administration has exceeded its authority, while Florida Gov. Rick Scott has suggested the flexibility would allow him to keep the work requirement.

Scott made clear that Floridians seeking benefits will still have to look for a job.

“People need to be going out and looking for a job,” he said recently on “Fox News Sunday.” “We believe in personal responsibility, and we’re going to have that in our state.”

How the change to the welfare program will play out is unclear. The directive said only that states may seek a waiver from the work component of the TANF program to “test alternative and innovative strategies, policies and procedures that are designed to improve employment outcomes for needy families.”

HHS stressed that any alternative should still aim to get welfare recipients into gainful employment. Any plan that “appears substantially likely to reduce access to assistance or employment for needy families,” will not be approved, the memo stated.

States currently must have 50 percent of their caseload meet certain work participation requirements, though there are ways around that as many states fall short.
